Hi, my name is Slavi.
I am an illustrator and artist based in London with a background in Fine Arts and Printmaking (Hampstead School of Art - London). I am developing the artwork using traditional techniques such as watercolour, ink and collage and computerised work using vector graphics, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
My work process is simple. My inspiration comes from observing the light movement, events and people I meet and ideas I find in books. I tend to start my compositions using sketches from life or old photographs. My subjects range from food and lifestyle to portraits and decoration.
Usually, I  would start with watercolours and then develop the same work using acrylic and collage. If I have time, I might let the picture take me on a voyage, exploring different techniques and compositions. If I have a client in mind, my next step would be to computerise the best work and see what can be enhanced through creating vector graphics or jpg images, reporting regularly to my client.
My illustrations are largely steered toward editorials, publishing and advertising. I love to create drawings for books, magazines and any other business that needs a visual decoration or explanation. I would develop images for web advertising, books, reports, print or electronic media, and commercials. Having worked in a university setting and on educational short films and graphic design, I enjoy exploring a broad range of topics with a preference for subjects that support and enhance learning.
If you have any questions about an idea or commission that you would like to discuss, please get in touch. I am always on the lookout for new projects or collaborations and would love to hear from you.
